Alex Cole – Managing Director
Alex graduated from Bristol University in 1989 with a degree in Civil Engineering and has over 26 years experience in the design and management of bridge and general steelwork supply and erection projects. During his career, Alex has spent time designing temporary and permanent road bridges for use all over the world, managing the sales of modular bridge systems and bridge steelwork to the UK, European and worldwide markets, and running the International Division of one of the UK’s largest modular bridge suppliers. Alex joined the Retro Bridge Group in 2013 and launched Retro Bridge Ltd with a remit to develop UK, Irish and worldwide rental and sale markets for the group’s innovative range of modular bridge systems. When not running Retro Bridge Ltd, Alex enjoys keeping fit and spending quality time with his family.
Han Kastermans – Director
Han graduated from Enschede technical University in 1988 with a degree in Civil Engineering, specialising in steel and concrete structures. He followed this with a business management course at the Dordrecht Technical High school. Han has over 23 years experience in the sale, design, supply and erection of temporary and permanent steel bridges, floating pontoon structures and roll-on / roll-off facilities. During his varied career he has rented out temporary and emergency bridges in many countries across Europe and sold or leased these structures further afield. Han founded the Retro Bridge Group in 2007 with fellow Director Pieter Janson and has spent many happy hours since that time concentrating on his favorite hobby – building bridges. Han is married and a father to two children.
